Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Today, January 13, 2022 our Lord called home to glory, Barbara Barker. Last Saturday, we had a Service of Celebration and Remembrance Service for Frank Barker, who was called home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2021. Praise the Lord in His kind Providence that today, 17 days later our Lord called Barbara home to glory and to be with Frank. Amazing! Amazing Grace.
There is so much that can and will be said about Barbara in the coming days but let me start with saying that she was an amazing and unique woman of God. Her leadership, teaching, hospitality and creative gifts from God were distinctively and constantly on display and yet intentionally in concert with Frank and his ministry by the grace of God and for the glory of God.
Dare I say, Barbara Barker was, to the praise of God and by the power of God, always “On Point” to the glory of God! Please continue to pray for the Barker family and the large number of friends who have been impacted by Barbara’s ministry.
Graveside Friday, January 21 at The Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo at 11:00am and the Service of Remembrance and Celebration is on Sunday, January 23 at 2:30 at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. Visitation to follow in the vestibule.
